The Golden Globes is the first big award ceremony of the year and there was hit and misses all over the red carpet. We have worked our way through the reams of images to find you the best and worst dressed of the night.
12 Years a Slave star Lupita Nyong’o was the runaway winner in red Ralph Lauren. She was closely followed by Australian actors Margot Robbie and Cate Blanchett.
The worst dressed list was littered with big names like Julia Roberts and Sandra Bullock – who should know better.

Margot Robbie stole the show on the Golden Globes red carpet.
Honourable Mention: Lena Dunham so often gets it wrong but the Girls creator looked cool and confident in canary yellow Zac Posen.
No. 9 Best: Amy Adams segued her American Hustle role to perfection in this '70s inspired Valentino halter dress.
No. 8 Best: Enough Said and VEEP's leading lady, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, ticked the all the right boxes in orange Narciso Rodriguez.
No. 7 Best: Helen Mirren chose to wear British favourite Jenny Packham and the mint green was sumptuous to say the least.
No. 6 best dressed: Emma Roberts was polished and perfect in this knockout Lanvin gown.
No. 5 Best: She divided critics with her open-backed red Dior dress over dark cigarette pants and stilettos, but we think Emma Watson looked fabulous.
No. 4 Best: Margot Robbie was luxe in creamy Gucci - and pretty much became the talk of Hollywood for her role in Wolf of Wall Street.
No. 3 best: Newly-engaged House of Cards star, Robin Wright, looked incredible in Reem Acra.
No. 2 Best: Blue Jasmine's best actress winner Cate Blanchett almost knocks everyone out of the park in black lace Armani Privé. Bring on the Oscars.
No. 1 Best: Lupita Nyong'o, star of 12 Years a Slave, was the hands down best dressed winner in demi-caped Ralph Lauren strapless gown.
Dishonourable Mention: Reese Witherspoon's muted green Calvin Klein dress was missing something to make it a stand out.
No. 10 Worst: Jennifer Lawrence in Dior should be never-fail but the double belt makes a plain dress look frumpy.
No. 9 Worst: The Big Bang Theory's Kaley Cuoco looked like an artistic palette gone wrong in this floral Rani Zakhem gown.
No. 8 Worst: Tina Fey looks as wide as she is tall in this floral Carolina Herrera number.
No. 7 worst: We know she's pregnant but Drew Barrymore should have taken a leaf out of Kerry Washington's maternity style book.
No. 6 Worst: Hayden Panettiere's Tom Ford was too old and too tight for the tiny actor.
No. 5. Worst: Sandra Bullock lost out to Cate Blanchett for the best actress gong, and to pretty much everybody else with this color-blocked Prabal Gurung gown.
No. 4 Worst: We don't even know where to start with Paula Patton's ruffled Stephane Rolland Couture column gown. Too much.
No. 3 Worst: Jacqueline Bisset delivered the most memorable acceptance speech of the night and one of the most forgettable gowns.
No. 2 Worst: We don't why Heidi Klum was at the Golden Globes but she must have thought it was 1991 - and not in a good way - when she chose this Marchesa gown and tassel choker.
No. 1 Worst: Julia Roberts should know better. The crinkled white shirt poking out of the top of this black strapless Dolce & Gabbana gown looks nothing short of awful.
