Skyhooks posed in a tree for the magazine in 1976. Reflecting on the shoot years later, lead guitarist Red Symons said: "Should you ever have the opportunity to do this sort of work yourself, bear in mind that what might have seemed a fun idea at the time will continue to haunt you 20 years later."
Actor Jack Thompson was the inaugural centrefold in 1972. "In this day and age, you regularly see nudity on television in prime time. That’s not even argued about. Back then, it was a major issue that would close theatres," Thompson told News.com.au.
This 1974 centrefold starring Daly-Wilson Big Band was a personal favourite of founding editor Ita Buttrose.

Filmmaker Phil Avalon originally knocked back the opportunity to be the magazine's first centrefold because his agents said the $400 fee was too low. However, he agreed to pose for the magazine months later.
