The poll, commissioned by the Australia China Relations Institute and reported by Fairfax, found that Chinese businesses have a more favourable view of Australia than Singapore, New Zealand, South Korea, the United States and Russia.

Only Germany and Canada came ahead of Australia, with Australia the favourite in the Asia Pacific region.
Ninety-three per cent of the business people polled had a favourable view of Australia. Only 81 per cent, meanwhile, had a favourable impression of the US.
Australia was also the favourite investment destination, ahead of Germany, the US and Singapore, in that order.
However, on higher education Australia fell far below the US and the UK. Fifty-three per cent of of respondents said the US was the best destination, followed by the UK at 33 per cent. Just 9 per cent favoured Australia as a higher education destination.
