Police divers have arrived in the NSW Riverina town of Leeton as the search for the body of teacher Stephanie Scott continues.

Ms Scott was allegedly murdered on Easter Sunday by Vincent Stanford, a cleaner at Leeton High School.

Police have not yet found Ms Scott’s body and a search of the area is continuing on Friday.

Detectives said they discovered an image of a burnt body on a camera, allegedly in Stanford’s car on Wednesday.

Stanford, 24, has been charged with murder.

So far, the divers have retrieved a laptop from the two-metre deep canal, which witnesses reportedly saw a man dump in the water on Easter Monday.

Leeton Volunteer Rescue Association are also conducting a line search adjacent to the railway line on Griffith Road.

The searches come after Ms Scott’s red Mazda 3 was found on a rural property about 8km from the town on Thursday.

Ms Scott was due to marry her childhood sweetheart in a country wedding on Saturday.
