Perth Scorchers batsman Michael Carberry was left batless after a classic case of "big swing, no ding" during Monday night's Twenty20 Big Bash League game at the WACA.

A bemused Carberry looked down at his hands while his bat flew swiftly across the infield after missing a delivery from the Adelaide Strikers' Kiwi import Kane Williamson.

Adelaide won the match after chasing down the Scorchers' target of 147 runs.
