More snow to fall across the country

A major cold front has created a winter wonderland in parts of New South Wales, with snow dumping in the Alpine region and a light dusting in the Central Tablelands.

Perisher gained more than 25cm of fresh snow, while at Orange the rain turned to snow early on Sunday and covered most of the town.

The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) said snow also fell in the western outskirts of the ACT, with Corin Forest receiving 5cm.

Emergency services have advised motorists to exercise caution and delay travel in affected areas if possible, especially in the Alpine region.

Meanwhile, some parts of Queensland will also receive a dusting of snow on Monday, according to the BOM.

Brisbane is set to experience its coldest day in two years.
