A popular Australian-made fruit juice has been pulled from major supermarkets across the country because it contains undeclared alcohol.

Food Standards Australia New Zealand issued the recall notice for one-litre bottles of Sunraysia Prune Juice.

“The recall is due to unintended fermentation and the presence of alcohol,” it said on Wednesday.

“Consumption of this product may cause illness/injury.”

The juice is sold by Sabrands Australia and has been available at Coles and Woolworths in NSW, Queensland, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia.

The affected bottles have a best-before date of December 4, 2025.

FSANZ urged buyers not to drink the juice. Instead, it should be returned to its place of purchase for a full refund.
