Are our kids safe in daycare? Two mothers have spoken to 10 News+ about why they say they’ll never go back to childcare centres.

They believe, due to the high changeover rates of carers, it’s difficult for children to form bonds with educators.

The mums also shared their children would cling to them, screaming when it came time to go to daycare.

They feel nannies and au pairs are a much better fit for them and their kids, but there’s a hurdle … nannies don’t qualify for childcare rebates.

Now the mums are trying to change that, petitioning the government to expand its subsidies.

They think it should be up to the parents who should look after their kids.
