Two people have died and another three are in serious conditions in Victoria after three separate crashes within a half-hour period.

A man in his thirties died when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree at Fern Hill just after noon.

A woman died after a crash at Ravenswood when her vehicle and a concrete truck collided on the Calder Freeway.

A young girl also in the car has been airlifted to a Melbourne Hospital in a critical condition, while a male passenger was taken to Bendigo Hospital with serious injuries.

In Mill Park, a young boy and a man were taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in serious conditions after a four-wheel drive allegedly struck their motorbike and pushed it into oncoming traffic.

The elderly driver of the four-wheel drive was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
