Police believe they have found the body of missing Melbourne man Dane Kowalski in a search of far north South Australia.
The 27-year-old’s car was found abandoned on Wednesday in remote scrubland near the Stuart Highway, about 95 kilometres south-west of Coober Pedy.

Searchers subsequently found what is believed to be the man’s body at 12:30pm (AEDT) today.
Mr Kowalski was last seen in Melbourne on December 13 last year before starting a solo drive to Darwin.
Police are providing support to the man’s family and friends and will prepare a report for the coroner.
