A NSW police officer has been charged with alleged assault following a Woolworths checkout clash that was captured on CCTV.
The violent altercation involving three customers happened at the Woolies supermarket in Auburn, Sydney, on Thursday.
Police said a 62-year-old man was allegedly assaulted by a 34-year-old man — who is a current serving special constable attached to a specialist command — and a 57-year-old woman.
The encounter followed a verbal altercation at the checkout, said police.
Wild footage shows the brawl unfolding, with punches flying, fierce kicking and 2L bottles of milk being used as weapons.
The scene begins with two men exchanging words at the checkout, with the younger officer, 34, pointing his finger.

As the officer collects his 2L bottle of milk to leave, he shoves the older man whose groceries are going through the till.
The 62-year-old immediately responds by stretching his leg out and kicking the first man.
As the brawl escalates, an older woman, 57, who appears to be with the constable, gets involved.
She and the officer are seen attacking the older man with a milk carton that they’re each holding, with one bottle exploding as it strikes the other customer.

The 34-year-old then begins pummelling the other man with numerous punches before the officer ends up on the ground and the older man sets into him.
The woman tries to stop the older man from attacking the constable who’s on the floor, grappling the 62-year-old’s legs.

Police said the 62-year-old man suffered minor injuries and sought medical treatment after the incident.
The 34-year-old officer was served with a court attendance notice for the charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray.
He will appear before Burwood Local Court on Thursday 4 September 2025.
