

A man’s body has been pulled from a stormwater drain in Newcastle, triggering a police investigation.
The grim discovery was made near the Waratah Train Station in the city’s northern suburbs on Tuesday morning.
NSW Police said the man was yet to be identified.
The police officers who were first to arrive established a crime scene, but further details have not been released.
Local media reported that an area was cordoned off while the body was being retrieved from the hole.
A ladder was reportedly lowered into the drain on Platt Street in attempts to extricate the remains.
NSW Police said Transport Command was investigating the incident.
