Two pilots have died in a collision between muster helicopters at a remote cattle station in Western Australia’s Kimberley.
Police said the helicopters collided shortly after take-off near Mount Anderson, in Camballin, in the WA outback.
“Both helicopters only had one person on board,” WA Police said on Thursday
“Sadly, both pilots – a 29-year-old man and a 30-year-old man – died as a result of injuries received during the crash.”
Police received a report of the aviation crash about 6.20am.
The location is about 300 kilometres east of Broome in the remote north-west of the state.
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau has been notified and will conduct a transport safety investigation into the incident.
WA Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
