Where most would try to escape, and others hunker down, one Aussie couple makes a beeline for the danger zone.
“We do love getting up close and personal, we do love being inside a tornado,” Thomas Hinterdorfer, chief forecaster for Higgins Storm Chasing, told 10 News+.
“We were inside seven tornadoes this year,” Hinterdorfer said, adding, “We were inside a couple last year. It’s crazy for a lot of people, it’s not crazy for us.”
Hinterdorfer and his partner, paramedic Katey Houston, returned from their latest adventure, snaking across Central America in search of the perfect twister.
“It was just one of those chaser’s dreams, and I know it’s a weird fairytale to have, but it is for us. This is what we live for,” Hinterdorfer said.
But that wasn’t always the case for Katey.
