Nearly 50,000 kilograms of dead fish have been removed.
A fisherman collects the dead fish, known as 'popoche chub' fish.
The incident follows a series of other mass deaths of popoche fish in recent months, which have remained unexplained.
The dead fish have covered the lake almost entirely.
Men collect the fish from the Lake Cajititlán, which is a large lagoon in the central state of Jalisco.
Explanations for the fish deaths range from poisoning from a nearby tequila distillery to temperature variations.
